It happened once before with ping pong, and it happens again tonight with The Avengers. After our mini review of that movie, we move on to The Walking Dead news, a quick review of the recently released Telltale video game, and a short bit of listener feedback.

We decided to delay our David Morrissey actor spotlight, due to a poor movie selection on my part. We’ll be doing that in two weeks instead, and watching the entire Red Riding trilogy in addition to Stoned, The Reaping, and Blackpool Episode 1.

If you’ve visited our Facebook page in the last day or so you will already know that this week’s podcast has been a bit of a bitch. Jason and I recorded it as usual on Monday night, but due to a computer malfunction we ended up losing a big chunk of our “Triggerfinger” recap. After cursing profusely we decided that releasing a complete podcast a day late was better than putting out something unfinished. So we fired up the Skype and fixed it as best as possible, and I’m happy to say it worked out pretty well.

Hey all,

There’s been lots more Walking Dead news this week, so that means it’s time for another episode of the podcast. Jason and I sit down to discuss the following items:

First we revisit the rumor from last week that Brandon Routh would be joining the cast. Turns out this isn’t true.
Sarah Wayne Callies is cast as Lori Grimes
Darabont regular Jeffrey DeMunn joins the cast in an unknown role.
Fearnet.com posts an interview with Frank Darabont, in which he reveals his plans for following the comic’s story line.
KNB Effects group is hired to provide special effects.

All this, plus we briefly speculate on what we’re going to include in the podcast once The Walking Dead is on the air.

Episode #7 – Rick Grimes is Cast

Hey folks,

It seems like 2 week intervals is becoming the norm at this point because here’s another episode of The Talking Dead. On the program this week Jason and I talk about the biggest casting news so far, as well as a big (and strange) rumour.

In actual news, Andrew Lincoln has been chosen to play the main character, Rick Grimes. Lincoln is a British actor who you may remember from Love Actually, or British TV comedy/drama Teachers. Is he the right choice for the role? Tune in to hear what Jason and I think, and please leave comments with your thoughts.

Episode #6: October it is!

It’s only been 2 weeks since the last episode of The Talking Dead, but with the shooting date fast approaching there has been a surge in Walking Dead news. In the last few days we’ve got some official casting, some rumoured casting, and a big announcement from AMC. Jason and I sit down to run through the following items:

- Robert Kirkman delivers the keynote speech at the ComicsPRO annual members meeting.

- Rumor: Jonny Lee Miller is the front runner to play Rick Grimes.

- Jon Bernthal has been cast as Rick Grimes’ partner Shane.

- AMC officially orders 6 episodes of the show, and plans to air it in October during FearFest.
