Great show, I can also concur the small bridges that people use for lawnmowers, tillers, though the busy work thesis seemed most probable.
Regarding your latest peeve about the show, while I do agree they should try to have guards on the roof, they do not have to worry about where Tyreese came from since that area is locked off (remember Carl rescued Tyreese’s group with the keys) and it is surely full of walkers.
Anyway, this discussion is fun and healthy and major kudos to the show for the Tom Waits song, that was a highlight, especially when the a capella version melded into his original.
Okay. So here’s what’s been frustrating me ever since they left the prison: Why is killing zombies in the yard/anywhere near the prison a problem at all? They could just coax zombies near the chain-link fence/prison bars and use one of their bajillion sharp objects to kill zombies through the holes while remaining completely protected themselves.
They seem never to have thought of this strategy (cue Herschel saying “we can’t clear the yard without wasting bullets”), but then again, in Season 2 (I believe, don’t hold me to it; the split-season thing screws with my head) RICK SHOWS SHANE THIS EXACT SAME STRATEGY!!!! Why has this been completely abandoned when they live in a place which is perfectly set up for killing zombies in this way? And why has no one ever mentioned this?
Greetings guys!
I’m a huge fan of your podcast!
Just wanted to send y’all my $.02 in regards to Merle quoting scripture. I think that perhaps this is not so much something he knew because he’d been studying the Bible at the Woodbury library, but rather a window into his troubled past. I imagine Darryl and Merle’s abusive father to have been a scripture-quoting, live by-the-Book, spare-the-rod-spoil-the-child man. Merle was simply parroting back what he’d been fed for most of his life. That he is perhaps reading the Bible at Woodbury’s library is a chilling reminder that history can repeat itself. What a wonderful, complex, broken character…I can’t wait to see how Merle deals with the conflict with the gov’nah!

Great point! I love the way Kirkman blends religion and the strains an actual non-Biblical apocalypse puts on people’s faith.
I am a first time writer and I’m also new to the world of the “walking dead”. You guys do a really great job.
My “Holy crap, did you see that?” Moment was from the epusode “Clear” which aired last night. Did you notice when the car gets stuck in the mud that all the windows on the car are dirty except for the drivers window? Also, after Morgan stabs Rick, the knife is lying on the floor perfectly clean? I guess Rick’s magic blood doesn’t stick? Also, did you see the size of those rats? Holy cow, why is Mirgan throwing away perfectly good good? Lol
I’ve listened to the first 30 or so podcasts and the last 25 or so, eventually I hope to get all caught up. Keep up the great work!
