Don’t get me wrong, I love the show… but if you watch AMC’s The Talking Dead and watch the short videos on the AMC Walking Dead website, most of the things you were confused about were explained. Who lit the screamer pits on fire was revealed. Also they wanted to get back to classic horror…hence the chase through the field in the truck, the whistling…etc. And David reveals that the whistle is the same tune he was humming/singing to Penny earlier in the season when he was combing her hair.
